FINDING MY MENTAL HEALTH AND FINANCIAL PEACE AS A BUSY MUM
April 17, 2024 by Ifeoma Ijeh
I didn’t realize how much stress I was carrying when my kids were way much younger until I found myself feeling depressed one evening, surrounded by unfinished house chores and homework assignments.
As a mom, you’re always doing — always giving.
You give your time, your energy, your sleep, your dreams.
And after a while, you start wondering: When do I ever have time for myself?
For me, the biggest weight was financial pressure.
It wasn’t that I wanted luxury or extravagance — I just wanted to feel safe. To know that if one unexpected bill came, I wouldn’t have to panic.
I wanted to be able to say yes when my kids asked for a little extra without feeling guilty.
I wanted peace.
But the traditional "hustle culture" didn’t fit my life in the years when my kids were still little.
I couldn’t take on a full-time job because I was already doing one taking care of the home and kids and making sure everyone was fine.
I just couldn’t think of leaving my kids alone to chase something "out there."
I needed something that fit around my life, not forced me to choose between my family and my sanity.
That’s when I stumbled into the world of online income — and more importantly, smart ways to create it.
I did a lot of surfing the internet and searching for what would fit into my lifestyle and that search paid off. Now I am busy and have stuffs that take me out but I didn't need to put away what sustained me when I really needed financial independence. With the use of AI tools like ChatGPT, I was able to save time , create opportunities to make more money and start and scale my small side hustle— without burning out.
No more spending hours staring into the open space wondering what to sell, or how to sell it.
With the right prompts and ideas, I could move faster, with less stress.
